Rabbi Avrumi and Cherry Freeman (nee Wolff), along with their baby Menachem Mendel, will be moving from Crown Heights to Oxnard, CA, in the coming weeks.
The Freemans will be moving to the seaside community 60 miles North of Los Angeles to join the staff of Shluchim at Chabad of Oxnard, directed by Rabbi Dov and Racheli Muchnik. They will serve as lead teachers at the Lamplighters Jewish Academy of Oxnard.
Lamplighters of Oxnard, established 5 years ago, serves 40 students from throughout Ventura County and the Conejo Valley, under the administration of Rabbi and Mrs. Muchnik and Educational Director Rabbi Zalmy Kudan.
The Freemans will also assist and enhance the myriad of community programs and events at Chabad of Oxnard.
Chabad of Oxnard, established 15 years ago, provides Jewish programming, educational services and Shabbos and Jewish holiday programs and events for locals and visitors.
The new Shluchim were appointed by the senior Shliach to Oxnard, Rabbi Dov Muchnik, under the auspices of the Head Shliach to the West Coast, Rabbi Shlomo Cunin.
