The proper means through which to fulfill the mitzvah of Matanos L’evyonim is for each individual to give the value of a satisfying meal to at least two poor people on Purim day itself.
The challenging task of finding appropriate recipients and helping them in a dignified manner is made even more difficult for it’s being required on one of the most hectic days of the year.
Here is your chance to perform the mitzvah in the most convenient, reliable and Mehudar way possible!
The “Adopt a Family” fund, led and supervised by Rabbi Menachem M. Gluckowsky, has made this Mitzvah more accessible than ever. Through donating to CharityForIsrael.com, your Matanos L’evyonim is guaranteed to reach at least two of the neediest families of Anash and Shluchim in Israel – ON PURIM day!
As long as it’s Purim on your clock, Rabbi Gluckowsky takes great care to distribute the funds to the Evyonim while it’s still Purim on theirs. Families outside of Yerushalayim receive funds on the 14th of Adar, and families inside Yerushalayim on the 15th – Shushan Purim. This way, you are guaranteed to fulfill the mitzvah al pi halacha.
Last year, over 4000 households and Shuls entrusted Rabbi Gluckowsky with their Matanos L’evyonim, and nearly 600 families in over 30 communities across Israel received substantial monetary gifts on Purim Day!
This year, the demand has grown to over 1350 families across 54 communities requesting help! The goal is to say YES to every one of them!
