Cops and robbers got into a shoot-out in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood Wednesday night, but no one was hit, police said.
Two suspects were arrested afterward.
The incident unfolded about 11:35 p.m. on Montgomery St. between New York and Brooklyn avenues in Crown Heights.
Anti-crime officers from the 71st Precinct who were seeking a suspect in a Bedford Ave. bodega robbery stopped a silver Nissan Maxima and were fired upon. One officer returned fire and the Maxima, but it collided about 50 feet away with another police car, cops said. Someone in the suspects’ vehicle fired again at cops.
A cop from the second patrol car returned fire, and two suspects were grabbed. A third suspect ran off.
Police recovered a silver handgun at the scene.
Three officers were treated at Kings County Hospital for minor injuries from the accident and one suspect was taken to Brookdale for injuries sustained in a scuffle with the cops

My daughter that day found a pool of blood and bloody footprints in front of her friend’s house in that area- so someone was hurt!

AT LEAST EIGHT BLOCKS IN THE NEIGHBERHOOD WERE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS FOR MORE THAN 12 HOURS. AT LEAST 40 POLICE PERSONELL WERE ALSO TIED UP (AND PROBABLY MANY ON OVERTIME). THE INCONVENIENCE OF PEOPLE HAVING TO WALK BLOCKS OUT OF THIER WAY,THE TRAFFIC JAMS ALL FOR AN INCIDENT WHERE NO ONE WAS ACTUALLY SHOT WAS REALLY OVER DRAMATIZED BY THE NYPD. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME INTERVENTION BY OUR LOCAL LEADERS TO CURTAIL THIS OVERPLAYING OF COPS AND ROBBERS. HAD THE SHOTS FIRED BEEN AT A CITIZEN THIS WHOLE THING WOULD HAVE CREATED MUCH LESS ACTIVITY.

It;s likely that these criminals will get less time for assaulting the police than the so-called ‘criminal’ who is being extradited from another country.

i was walking down montegrmty and brooklyn at 11:30 and did not see this
i was walking to school in bais rivka and i had to go through new york avenue because the whole brooklyn was blocked off!
