to # 35, could you focus on the real thing for crying out loud! Better, don’t say anything… or at least say something nice about the honor from the queen of England!

Kiddush Hashem

i think it is an amazing thing to be able to receive an honor of such from the queen. she is not just an ‘ordinary Goy’, Hashem has bestowed upon her blessings to be a part of royalty, so much so that we have a special Mitzvah to make a Brocho upon seeing her.
we should all be glad that She is honoring and valuing the extent of what the Jewish people do rather than being negative about it.
appreciate that she is pro-Jews…i just think your jealous.

I know the Shlucha

She doesn’t own a single hat and always wears a sheitel. Because the rules say that you need to wear a hat, she borrowed a hat for the day from a lady in her kehillah.

You can learn a great lesson from watching the bittul to the Queen. The soldiers stand absolutely still in their heavy uniforms even on the hottest of summer days.

Very Fashionable

To 26 and 28 – Thanks for explaining the rules.

To 34 – I think the question is a valid question. Coming from parshas Naso on which there are many sichos and letters about wearing shaitels specifically and not hats, it was worthwhile to clarify the point.

Kudos for the traditional Prince Albert style (kapota) for him (especially considering the proximity to Queen Victoria’s birthday) and tznius attire (hat included) for her.

Did you ever hear of a kiddish hashem? Even if it were not the queen, an honor is always special.
About the hat, the rest of your message was worthless. You could have left it at the compliment and waited till later to ask about the hat. Some people are just never able to be fully happy for others.
mazal tov on your prestigious honor, i am sure you deserve it after 19 years of selfless work…

It’s customary & protocol for ladies to wear a hat. Sheitel (for the Royals!) is hair! Nice to see Rabbi Pink in his kapote. Very appropriate!

I’m sorry you don’t feel able to celebrate the achievement of others, yes the queen may not be a Jew but she is showing her full support for the Jewish people who are doing good out there.

The Queen is true Malchus, so much so that my father took us out of school & we stood in pouring rain so we could say the appropriate Bracha when she visited our city. I was about 8 years old, I’m a great deal older than that today & I still remember shlepping on a bus to stand in the rain with my mother, all so we could make the Bracha. It was the one & only time I saw the Queen. Add to that the fact that despite growing anti-semitism in the UK, the Royal Family (with the exception… Read more »

Really proud of you. The good work for your commuinity has been recognised and appreciated by the outside world- the queen of England herself. Real kiddush Hashem. Carry on the good works. Yasher Kochachem, may you go from strength to strength and your efforts should bring the ultimate kiddush hashem Moshiach.

Awesome!!!

I have an idea- why don’t you go learn a bit? This is not just any goy, this is real malchus here. Besides for the fact that any honors bestowed upon Yidden by goyim, especially those in positions of authority, are extremely beneficial for Yidden, like I said- this is not just any goyishe authority. Chassidus is full of the concept of understanding Hashem’s Kingship through royalty down here, and yes we do hold real human royalty in high regard. There are relevant halachos, not to mention so many examples throughout history…. Oh and btw, while you are doing your… Read more »
