In the heart of the Marina Roscha neighborhood in Moscow, a new center for Shluchim – “Misrad Hashluchim” – was inaugurated this week.
The center, near the headquarters of the Federation of Jewish Communities (FJC) and the offices of ‘Or Avner – Chabad,’ was built with the goal of providing professional office services for the many Shluchim active in Russia and the FSU.
The inauguration of the new center was held following the Rebbe’s directive in 5747, to establish a “Central Place” for the Shluchim in the Rebbe’s neighborhood. Following this instruction, the famous Shluchim Office was established in Crown Heights, and now a similar center has been established in Russia, which will serve as a professional anchor for the Shluchim and their families.
At the mezuzah-affixing ceremony participated the Chief Rabbi of Russia and head Shliach, Rabbi Berel Lazar; the CEO of the Federation of Jewish Communities, Shliach Rabbi Dovid Mondshine; and philanthropist R’ Yehuda Davidov, who is devoted and dedicated to the needs of the Rebbe’s Shluchim.
The new complex includes: a luxurious lounge with rest and seating areas, fully equipped workstations, a conference room, a children’s corner, computers for online learning for the Shluchim’s children, a luxurious guest apartment, and a coffee bar with hot and cold drinks.
This initiative constitutes another link in the array of services provided by the Federation of Jewish Communities, which coordinates the activities of the Shluchim in the FSU under the leadership of Rabbi Lazar.
The project was carried out with exceptional dedication by Mrs. Sarah Chana Mondshine and Mrs. Shterna Sarah Mondshine.
The complex will begin operating on a regular basis and will serve all the Shluchim coming to Moscow, as well as a center for meetings, training, and professional workshops to advance Jewish activity throughout the FSU.
