A moving and impactful event commemorating the Shloshim of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kalmenson, beloved longtime Rosh Yeshiva and world-renowned author of Reshimas Shiurim, was held in Beis Dovid Shlomo in New Haven on Monday evening, Oct. 27. Over 300 people attended in person, and close to 2,000 joined virtually. The varied speakers included Rabbi Kalmenson’s wife, Rebbetzin Hindy Kalmenson, who is a beloved educator for many decades, their three sons, who are shluchim and community leaders, and esteemed Rabbis and friends.
One participant shared, “It’s unbelievable how every person on the program shared completely different angles and anecdotes, which made it so special to listen to, but all came to the same theme about Rabbi Kalmenson z’l: Ahavas Hashem, Ahavas Ha’Torah, and Ahavas Yisrael- in the purest sense of those words.”
The students in Yeshivas Beis Dovid Shlomo spearheaded a mitzvah campaign, where you can add a mitzvah that you will take on liluy nishmas Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kalmenson z’l.
In Jerusalem, as well, a Shloshim event was held at Chabad of Baka, directed by Rabbi Kalmenson’s son-in-law and daughter, Rabbi Avraham and Nechama Dina Hendel. Close to 200 community members joined, and many took on positive resolutions, such as preparing negel vasser next to their beds, speaking more positively and lovingly, and learning Torah together with their spouses.
“Hakitzu V’ranenu Shochnei Afar!” We all eagerly await the coming of Moshiach, when we will be reunited with our Rebbe and all of our loved ones.
Following the moving and impactful Shloshim event in New Haven, which over 300 people attended, many positive resolutions were made in the realms of ahavas Yisrael and commitment to Torah. A call to action was made to help print the treasured seforim of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kalmenson z’l. There are materials for 7-10 new seforim. All that’s needed is to raise the funds to be able to publish them. This is an opportunity and zchus to be a part of continuing Rabbi Kalmenson’s righteous legacy, while hastening the Geulah through hafatzas hamayonos chutzah.

The Rebbe teaches us, “V’Hachai yiten el libo,” which means, “and the living should take to heart.”
You can help bring Rabbi Kalmenson’s seforim to print! There are currently manuscripts for 7-10 new sefarim of Rabbi Kalmenson (in addition to the 14 already published).
There is a unique opportunity to partner in this project, thus aiding in hafatzas hamayanos chutzah and spreading Torah worldwide. The Rebbe praised and blessed Rabbi Kalmenson’s sefarim and was especially pleased with the huge Kiddush Chabad that these sefarim made and continue to make in all kinds of communities in the Jewish world.
The costs of preparing and sending each sefer to print is approximately $12,000. There is also an opportunity to have a dedication in one of the Sefarim for $3,600, or to dedicate a siman for $360.
Any amount is appreciated and will help bring this beautiful initiative to fruition!
We bless you for your participation with overflowing brachos materially and spiritually.

The speakers were amazing, and there were so many beautiful lessons to take to heart.
May all of the hachlatos tovos bring a huge aliyas neshama to Rabbi Kalmenson z’l and brachos of revealed good to all who knew him.
With Moshiach now!
