Rabbi Chaim Moshe Mordechai Shaikevitz, a true talmid chochom, spent over 36 years as a dedicated Chabad Shliach in Milan, Italy. He founded Beit Chabad Milan, established a local Yeshiva, founded the first European Yeshivas Kayitz, headed the local day camp Machne Chaya and was the administrator of the Beis Chana Seminary.
On Friday, 5 Cheshvan 5781, Rabbi Shaikevitz tragically passed away.
A week before his sudden passing, Rabbi Shaikevitz placed a down payment on a new building of 1500 square meters. His hope was to create a center where all would feel welcome and to use the space for learning, joy and togetherness.
Now it is OUR opportunity to continue what Rabbi Shaikevitz started and to ensure that his dream becomes a reality! We only have 3 months to close, or the building and all the good it will bring to Milan, will be lost forever. Supporters are encouraged to buy a brick or meter of and further this empowering vision.
Monday, November 23th – 7th of Kislev, Beit Chabad Milan, in loving memory of Rabbi Moshe Shaikevitz, is launching a 36-hour campaign to continue the vision of a remarkable Shliach and further unite the Yidden of Milan and beyond! All donations can be made over 24 months.
Rabbi Shaikevitz was a living example of chesed and achdus, a community leader, a dedicated mentor and a friend to all. He was passionate about making kosher food available in Milan a reality for both the local community as well as the many businessmen and tourists. He spent his life caring for others and was a role model and guide to countless individuals. With his warm smile, kind words, and motivation to his Shlichus, he continues to inspire, encourage and influence many.
