Rabbi Yitzchok Lerman, Shliach in New Jersey and a maggid shiur in Tomchei Temimim Morristown, celebrated a Siyum HaShas on Sunday with family, friends, and current and former students.
Rabbi Lerman, who also serves as a Rav and Shliach at Chabad of South Bergen and The Meadowlands in New Jersey, is a popular Magid Shiur in Morristown Zal where he is known for his interesting and engaging shiurim. In addition, he is also a reserve chaplain in the US Air Force.
With all these roles to keep him busy, Rabbi Lerman has nevertheless celebrated the completion this week of the entire Shas.
At the Siyum attended by proud family and friends, he spoke about his journey in completing Shas, by learning at his own pace, but constantly studying.
Rabbi Lerman stressed the importance of celebrating each milestone, and encouraged others to learn as well, and to keep going, no matter how long it takes. He thanked his teachers, family and students for their support. He also thanked the Rubashkin family for hosting the event.
His father, Rabbi Gershon Lerman, spoke with pride about the time management skills of his son.
“Yitzchok teaches full time in Yeshiva, is a shliach who gives shiurim in the evenings, and is a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. It’s impressive how he finds the time to learn on his own and complete shas!” Rabbi Gershon Lerman said proudly.
The Koran Gemara Card was given out as a teshura memento to all the attendees, to assist others with their learning.
He was shliach of mine. A humble beautiful man and great character. Hashem should bless you to keep drawing down the Beautiful teachings of Torah into the world and may you continue to go from strength to strength and bi ezrat hashem very soon we will all be learning together in yerushalayim with Moshiach!
