A 10 year-old Israeli boy, kidnapped by his non Jewish father in Germany, was returned home – with the help of Chabad Rabbi Schneur Trebnik.
The drama began a few weeks ago when the Israeli mother flew to the Olam area for the boy to meet his father. After spending a few days together, the father went for a walk with the boy and his dog and didn’t return.
In a text message to the his ex-wife, the man said he took their son to France although they planned to fly back to Tel Aviv that day.
She filed a complaint, but German Police were helpless as the boy was not in the country.
At that point Trebnik, the Chief Rabbi of Ulm and a Chabad Shliach, got involved. “Our mission as a Shliach is to assist every Jew,” he said, and got to work, pulling strings in the right places.
After 2 weeks, the father was back in Germany but refused to return the child who is being raised as a Jew.
In a court session without the father’s presence, a judge ordered that child return to Israel with his mother.
“I advised her to come with her suitcases to court, so once the boy is in her custody, she can immediately travel before the father has a chance to appeal the case,” Trebnik told COLlive.com.
With the help of the Shliach and his wife, the woman was ready to leave the moment the police seized the boy. The mom and boy headed by car to Switzerland, out of Europe’s Schengen Area borders, and from there they took a flight to Israel.
Not long after, Rabbi Trebnik got a call.
“Thanks for everything,” a woman’s voice said. “We are home in Israel.”

I hope the shaliach got legal advice since he may have been counselling her to commit an offence. The shaliach is stepping onto thin ice when he gives advice that is outside his expertise. It could come to bite him. He should leave that to the professionals!!
if u read it again most of ure questions are answered.
pidyon shivuyim – wow!
why would a Jewish mother trust a german guy wither her son???????
don’t we know better then that?
with out chabad where would this boy be or anybody in a forgien country who needs any thing?
It is very painful to see children used as weapons by separated parents who hate each other.
Great work!
The details are very unclear.
Why wasn’t the father there?
Who brought the child to court?
Why did the mother have to bring her suitcase to court?
