Rabbi Ephraim Simon, co-director of Friends of Lubavitch of Bergen County in Teaneck, N.J., recently made headlines by donating his kidney to a terminally ill man.
The father of 9 heard about a 12 year old girl who was in desperate need of a kidney and volunteered, but was told a donor had been found.
Simon requested that his name be kept on file, and was recently contacted to help a terminally-ill man, a Satmar father of 10 from Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The operation took place one week ago.
May this great deed of kindness be the one to tip the scale and bring Moshiach now.
It gives me such enormous joy to see this, but I’m not surprised. Rabbi Simon and his family have been giving of themselves when they took time and attention to care for me and other students at University of Miami, to answer calls and emails with difficult questions, etc., etc., etc. He is a mensch and I am proud to have him as my spiritual role model. The fact that I heard about this story from someone other than Rabbi Simon or his family is a testament to their deep humility.
such a kiddush lubavitch!!!
We are so proud to be part of your family The generosity of your family should evoke brocha hatzlocha gezunt nachas etc for klal Yisroel and especially your family
How Beautiful. What a selfless act by Rabbi Simon and his entire family.
what amazing selflessness! such people are few and far in between!
What at an amazing story of true Mesiras Nefesh. May both Rabbi Simon and the kidney recipient have a full Refuah Shelaimo and Rabbi Simon should be rewarded with nachas from his whole family. Kol Hakavod.
This is an amazing dedication of a Shliach.
You make us proud.
