An announcement by Representative Cheney:
Congresswoman Liz Cheney announced that she has invited Rabbi Zalman Mendelsohn of the Chabad Lubavitch of Wyoming in Jackson to be her guest for the State of the Union address delivered by President Donald Trump.
“I’m thrilled that Rabbi Zalman will be joining me for the President’s speech this evening,” Congresswoman Cheney said. “I am blessed to call Rabbi Zalman and his wife Raizy my friends and humbled by their service to people all across our state.”
Cheney said that “At a time when Jewish Americans are facing increased threats of anti-Semitism and the importance of our relationship with Israel could not be more vital, I’m proud that he will be in the chamber with me to hear this historic address by President Trump.”
Rabbi Mendelsohn received a Bachelor’s Degree in Talmudic Study in 2002 from the Rabbinical College of America, and he taught at the Rabbinical College of America from 2004 to 2006.
He and his wife moved to Wyoming to establish the Chabad Center. He has been previously recognized for his work in growing the Jewish community in Wyoming.
I’ve liked Liz Cheney for a long time and had been wishing she would be elected to something. She is very smart. Now that she is finally in office, look what a beautiful thing she did! 🙂
