On the first Yartzeit of their son Hershel Weinberger obm, who tragically passed away one year ago at the age of 9, his parents Shamai and Sara Leah Weinberger have a request of the worldwide community.
Message from the Weinberger family:
Last year on 5 Av, our 9-year-old son Hershel passed away.
This tragedy was hard not just for our family and friends but the entire Chicago community and many beyond. Hershel was the kind of kid to make jokes and keep everyone smiling. This past year has been a long year with ups and downs, plastered-on smiles and milestones passing with a piece of my heart not there with us. I don’t know of a single parent who wouldn’t prefer their child in their arms whether the child is one month old or fifty years old.
We learn from a young age about the power of our mitzvos. We know that doing a mitzvah l’ilui nishmas a person has a special effect. We also know that every mitzvah brings us closer to the coming of Moshiach, which we all yearn for. Moshiach will bring all of our loved ones back here with us.
This is why we created this short Dvar Torah paired with a small Mitzvah to bring Moshiach. It is translated into many languages for everyone to use in whichever language they are most comfortable.

Bring Moshiach = Bring Hershel Back
This is a very powerful hachlata and important for all who can to please do this. Thank you to the Weinberger family for initiating this ahavas chinam and may your Hershel’s neshoma have a massive aliyah
This is a beautiful initiative. I sent an email to a relative living alone with whom I interact a couple times a year. Thanks for this important reminder.
May the Neshama of your beautiful son have an Aliyah and can we please just have Moshiach come?!
