I, too, would buy an audible, but not jarring, Shabbos alarm for my home. It would help get the family moving with the last -second preparations that always seem to pop up right before Shabbos – especially on the short Fridays. As commenter #1 points out, it would be a great gift for an out-of-towner who isn’t lucky enough to live within earshot of the kind of Shabbos alarm we have here in Crown Heights.

difference?

Whats the difference between this and a digital wall timer/shabbos clock that you can have 7 times on and off?

Agree with you.

Price
November 8, 2014 10:27 pm

For those wondering about the price, it is $214.50 shipped (19.50 of that is shipping and handling).

Factually incorrect!

From the start, Mendel installed a preset timer which worked according to the times of sunset, and as technology improved in this area, he installed more accurate timers. Mendel has always invested in the most updated electronics to further his worthy projects. Continued Hatzlocha!

it would be nice if this can activate items in the house in Shabbos mode like:
shut of fridge light
turn on shabbos clocks
turn of phone ringers

Personal Candle Lighting Alarm
November 8, 2014 5:54 pm

If this means a small device that beeps **pleasantly** or plays a tune (“Shabbos is coming….”) and or an announcement like “Candle Lighting in x minutes…”, but **NOT** a huge speaker-like alarm that will frighten everyone, then I’d love to purchase one, actually several for all my children’s homes.

Can the owner post details and purchase information?
