Students of the English-speaking Pnimiyut Seminary for higher Jewish studies in Tel Aviv ended a full month of community outreach and spreading light in the secular Israeli city.
The American girls went on Mivtzoim each night of Chanukah visiting the Ichilov hospital speaking to and cheering up patients.
They also organized holiday events for children in cooperation with with local Chabad Houses.
In Ramat Aviv Gimmel neighborhood, 25 children from the community of Shliach Rabbi Shneur Chaviv learned about Chanukah, said Pesukim and gave Tzedakah.
In the Yarkon Park, where frum Jews are not a always welcome sight, kids and their parents joined the activities which ended in an emotional Menorah lighting done with with Shlucha Mrs. Esther Peikarski and Rabbi Sholom Glitzenstien.
On the last night of Chaunukah, the girls also set up an event for Rabbi and Mrs. Mendy Gerlitzky in the prestigious building complex of Sea and Sun.
This was the culmination of “Lamplighters” theme in the seminary for the month of Kislev and was concluded by a blood drive and Seminary Chanukah Party and Farbrengen where the girls took on Hachlotos to continue spreading the light.
