A stylish self-discovery journal, entitled Seven Voices of Leadership, was published in December 2019 through Jewish Girls Unite in honor of Nina Schottenstein’s Bat Mitzvah by her parents Eda and David.
The journal, distributed to all the guests, includes original illustrations, growth-tools, inspiration and writing-prompts for girls to discover the voices of the seven Biblical prophetesses.
This journal is a practical guide for girls on their journey from “Bat Mitzvah and Beyond” echoing the voices of great female leaders who were beacons of light during challenging times. It is clear that this unique journal is serving a new purpose to strengthen and empower girls during these trying times. Each prophetess inspires us with her faith and unique voice of leadership: Sarah, Voice of Vision; Miriam, Voice of Joy; Devorah, Voice of Empowerment; Chana, Voice of Prayer; Avigail, Voice of Peace; Chuldah, Voice of Compassion; Esther, Voice of Courage.
Jewish Girls Unite and the Schottenstein’s are offering this powerful self-discovery journal as a FREE GIFT in the form of a digital download for all girls until Pesach. It is available in the JGU SHOP HERE:

Girls of all ages are invited to sign up for the Discussion Group at https://jewishgirlsunite.com/events/ This journal is based on a curriculum for a JGU online workshop, called Bat Mitzvah and Beyond, offered weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM ET.
Nina articulated this project’s meaning at her celebration: “When I reflect on who I am and who I want to become, I think about the many role models who have empowered me…
Becoming Bas Mitzvah means I recognize that it is my honor and duty to follow in the footsteps of the women who have paved the way… My great-grandmother Nina, the person I’m named after, risked her life to be with her husband when he was sentenced to 10 years of hard labor in Siberia. Had she not had the courage… I would not be here today. […] It is very humbling to see what impact role models can have on our lives today and for future generations. That is why for my Bas-Mitzvah project, my parents partnered with Jewish Girls Unite, an organization that empowers girls to become leaders, to publish a self-discovery journal to apply the lessons from the lives of the seven Prophetesses to become the best version of themselves and create positive change in the world.”
Publisher Nechama Laber and Founding Benefactor Eda go back 25 years when Eda was Nechama’s 12-year-old student in Beth Rivkah Montreal. Eda remarked, “We reconnected years later to create this journal for girls of Bat-Mitzvah. We have come full circle in our shared vision of providing young women with practical and engaging tools and tips for self-exploration and discovery and our mission is to educate, inspire, and empower young women to discover their unique voices of leadership.”
Mrs. Roni Pasternak in Israel, Dr. Sarah Rosenfeld in Australia, Mrs. Rivka Leah Popack in Denver and Mrs. Rochel Flikshtein in Delaware are amongst some of the educators and Chabad Shluchos who are excited that this educational resource is now available.
“Seven Voices of leadership” draws on beautiful Torah sources and the latest in coaching tools for the purpose of drawing out a Bat Mitzvah girl’s inner essence on every level. I also think this journal can be used for women of all ages. I am thrilled that this exists and it should be used everywhere.” -Roni Pasternak.
“Wow, wow, wow, this is amazing. It’s beautiful and incredible and I want to run a teen group using this”. -Rivka Leah Popack
“I’m so thrilled to use the new journal with my girls. It is so well done and thought-provoking. I look forward to collaborating with JGU and offering my community a safe online platform where girls can engage in meaningful online activities with Jewish girls worldwide” — Mrs. Rochel Flikshtein.
“David and Eda have given their daughter Nina the most beautiful Bat-Mitzvah gift, which will continue to empower future generations of Jewish mothers and leaders. It is a gift for all Jewish girls for all time,” said Nechama Laber, JGU Global Director.
