“Scratch Off” Game for Shluchim

Just in time for the Kinus Hashluchim, Yad L’Shliach is excited to announce the launch of a new Scratch-Off game intended to help shluchim get more “bang for their buck” while shopping on Kingston Avenue.

Everybody knows that when Shluchim come to Crown Heights, they usually arrive with two empty suitcases to pack up and shlep their newly bought goods home. Armed with shopping lists written by their wives, children, and mekuravim, the bills start piling up nice and high.

As such, Yad L’Shliach came up with a potential way to somewhat ease the financial burden on their already mounting credit card bills. Come the week of the Kinus, shluchim can pick up a game-card at the Kinus registration area.

The scratch-off game offers shluchim a chance to win one of hundreds of prizes at a good number of Kingston Avenue vendors — all of whom were more than eager to participate in this pilot initiative.

With a value of over $10,000 in cash and prizes, many shluchim can expect to scratch off and discover that they’ve won gift-certificates, dining-out experiences at a number of Crown Heights restaurants, and up to $250 cash from Yad L’Shliach and much more.

For the last eight years, Yad L’Shliach has raised and distributed over one million dollars to families of shluchim experiencing moments of financial struggle.
