Many girls in the Chabad world find themselves struggling with what to do after seminary is over. Coming from a year or two filled with intense learning and warmth, it’s hard to transition and decide what’s best continuing forward, especially in this vulnerable time before marriage. Between wanting to live in the Rebbe’s Schuna, work, train for a parnasa, self-develop as a future chassidishe wife and mother, and continue learning and growth in chassidishkeit, it’s no easy decision. What about marriage classes? Home management, budgeting, leadership, teaching and chinuch training? Learning for oneself?
Post sem young women should still be in a Chassidishe structure which promotes self-growth and learning, even “out of the system.” Young women no longer need to leave their home town and educational values to pursue higher learning and career training. Young ladies and post seminary girls now have the opportunity to do just that – professionally train for a vocation, while studying a strong yehadus curriculum that includes Chassidus (Tanya, Maamorim, Sichos), Bayis Yehudi, Communication in Marriage, Chinuch, Teaching Kriah, Hands-on Halacha, Leadership Training and more, at Michlelet Chana Academy.
5779 marks Michlelet Chana Academy’s second year, headed by Mrs. Rivka Holzman. The teachers at MCA are renowned rabbonim and lecturers well known in Crown Heights. There are three tracks of classes: morning, evening and Sunday. Students are accommodated according to their personal work schedule and can choose which track(s) to pursue, whether full or part-time. Student i-20 visas are offered to full time students from out of the country. Full time students are also eligible to attend an hour of pilates and weightlifting class twice a week free of charge, and live in a fully furnished and freshly remodeled apartment for the year at a low cost. MCA courses take place in beautiful renovated studios and workspaces. Building includes a lounge, brand new state-of-the-art kitchen, and library full of seforim, resources, and Jewish novels.

Wish there was a similar opportunity in Crown Heights for boys as well.. many of them need this kind of support and guidance.
There has been a program running for several years now in Crown Heights for Post Sem Girls. It is called “Living Chassidus”, they have shiurim, farbrengens, workshops and more. They also help girls find meals for Shabbos and Yom Tov.
It is being run in such away where one really feels at home.
See here for more info: https://livingchassidus.org/
Rivka you are so innovative!!!!
Girls take advantage of this now!!!!!
Wish this was around when my daughters were young ladies.
Just what every chabad girl is looking for. If she doesn’t want to be a teacher in a school, she can learn other things! But still in the cacoon of yiddishkeit without all the chochmos hagoyim. “Take out the bad and teach the practical” – Well done
