Jewish boxing champ Dmitry Salita spoke for a group of Hebrew High students and teen leaders in Los Alamitos California.
In his talk Salita told about how he came to keep Shabbat and he was inspired to tell the Golden Gloves that he would not fight on Shabbat.
The students were amazed by Salita’s talk and his dedication. “He can really deliver a punch line,” said one parent.
Salita is now on a 20-city speaking tour that will include schools, men’s groups and community centers.
Salita suprised some lucky students with his offical t-shirts and then went on to pray with his talit and tefilin at the Chabad center in Los Alamitos.
According to those that attended his talk, they said “his presentation is a knock out, and he shows why yiddishkeit is worth fighting for.”
