Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin, aware that his early release from prison has united Jewish people around the world, has called on the public to turn the momentum into spiritual action.
Speaking to family members gathered at his brother’s home in Crown Heights, Rubashkin said he wanted people to join in signing up for a letter in a Sefer Torah for the unity of the Jewish people.
The writing of the unity Torah was initiated by the Rebbe in the year 5742 to connect all adult Jewish people. This is the 8th scroll being written in Israel. Another initiative is focused on uniting all Jewish children.
The letters, which become one complete Sefer Torah, unite all those that own these letters into one united entity which brings special bracha and protection for Klal yisroel, organizers said.
The Rebbe strongly encouraged each person to own one letter. One can buy for relatives and friends as well. You can give any amount of money in order to own a letter.
Children can also be included in this Sefer Torah, but are still encouraged to to buy a letter in the exclusive unity Sefer Torah for children at kidstorah.org.
“Even if you own a letter in another Sefer Torah, you can still get one in this one,” the Rubashkin family said. “Sholom Mordechai asks that we translate this exceptional special spirit of achdus into this special endeavor and this will surely speed up even more in the coming of moshiach.”

This is amazing news, Boruch HaShem! But so many articles about what happened to Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin? Am I the only one that thinks it’s a bit excessive?
