If you didn’t like the Obama Administration’s foreign policy in the first term, expect worse in the second, Florida Jews were warned.
“Once he passed those pesky voters, he’s going to be free from political constraints in a way he has not been in the first term,” former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton said about President Barack Obama.
“I think that many of the things he was unwilling or unable to do, he will try to do in his second term,” Bolton told a crowd of 600 people during a lecture at The Shul of Bal Harbour in Surfside on Sunday, October 14.
Bolton, a veteran diplomat who represented the United States in the United Nations, is a foreign policy adviser to 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
He was introduced by Rabbi Shalom Ber Lipskar, spiritual leader of The Shul, as “one of the most extraordinary outspoken friends for Israel and democracy” and one who speaks “what is right, not popular.”
Rabbi Lipskar stated that “as a religious institution that has a tax exemption, we do not support or endorse any candidate. We are merely giving you information so you can make your own choices.”
COLlive.com was told that The Shul also offered the Obama campgain to host a lecture with one of its representatives.
RUSSIAN DRAMA
Bolton jokingly opened his remarks with noting that “I am not going to say anything partisan today. It’ll be pure analysis.” It didn’t take long for him to state that as a fellow lawyer, he would never hire Obama to his firm.
While admitting that the economy was on people’s minds, the author and political commentator argued that more attention needs to be given to foreign policy.
He said “we need a full discussion (on this topic) because of the critical importance of having the right Commander In Chief after January 20th,” when the new president will take office.
“Right now we’ve got a president that thinks it’s America that’s responsible for the world’s problems… (that) it’s our conduct that causes the nations to act ill towards us,” Bolton said.
“If you want to know what a second Obama term will look like, remember that open mic conversation between Obama and (then) Russian President Dimitry Medvedev,” Bolton stated.
The president was caught on camera urging Moscow to give him “space” until after the November ballot. “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility,” Obama told Medvedev who in turn said he will relate the message to now-President Vladimir Putin.
The White House said at the time that the comments were in reference to an anti-ballistic shield in Europe which Russia opposes. On the campaign trail, however, Obama said “this was specifically about how we deal with Russia and nuclear arms.”
“I have never seen an American President negotiate with an adversary foreign leader on its own behalf and not on our behalf,” Bolton said in Florida. “That’s just one example.”
GET THE VOTE
Reuters reported Saturday that a new poll give President Obama a narrow lead of 2 percentage points over Romney, leaving the race effectively tied as fewer voters say they are likely to change their minds.
Obama led Romney by 47 percent to 45 percent among likely voters, a slim margin within the daily national online tracking survey’s credibility interval.
But Bolton said he thinks minds can still be changed – even among those who voted Democrat in 2008. “There’s a lot of people who voted for Obama last time who are very uneasy about the future,” he said.
He estimated that there are many who voted for Obama in 2008 that “didn’t get what they voted for and their anxiety about having done one the wrong thing before and the desire to do something right this time makes them amenable to persuasion.”
He urged the Jewish crowd to “talk to the universe you live in” to vote for the Republican Romney because “there is no ‘buyer’s remorse’ in the elections.”

Romney never said he’s gonna try to eliminate food stamps for those who are currently eligible. What he DID say is that he will create more jobs which will make less people eligible for food stamps. Ambassador (former UN) Bolton is a great and true friend of Israel. He is brilliant and his words are truthful. If Romney will have people like him, he should be President.
