Family and close friends celebrated Sunday the 75th birthday of Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, one of the most internationally recognized Jewish figures today.
The former Chief Rabbi of Israel and current Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv was brought to the luxurious Keter Harimon hall in Bnei Brak, where many familiar faces were waiting for him.
The party was organized and sponsored by Rabbi Zvi Reisman, a philanthropist from Los Angeles and close acquaintance of Rabbi Lau.
Rabbi Lau was one of the youngest survivors of the Buchenwald Nazi Concentration Camp, where both of his parents and other family members were murdered. He is Chairman of Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem.
As a gift Reisman gave him a miniature Torah with a special aron kodesh for hold it.
May Hashem give Rabbi Lau many long years with his Rebbetzin, filled with only good health nachas, simchas and koach to keep on with his very holy work. What a beautiful gift of a miniature Torah and an Aron Kodesh to keep it in. Please read his excellent book, “Out of the Depths” as a present from Rabbi Lau to us all.
I love Rabbi Lau – he’s a great speaker and all BUT… he does charge 5 figures to give lectures so he’s also a businessman!
look at his book to see how this great example of a Jewish man, has turned over his world to do HaShem’s will, in his infinte love for Jews, and HaKodosh Boruch Hu. This man is a true example of a high form of a Jew, may he be blessed. He has love for all Jews, and his book alone, is so powerful to teach many amazing lessons.
In his memoir “Out of the depths” Rabbi Lau’s amazing story survival of the holocaust at the age of 8 and becoming the chief rabbi of Israel

Obama Speech at Cairo University 2009, you tube it. Watch it before you vote…”” Don’t forget Obama’s true colours!” He is a moem first and pro israel last. He doesn’t make the decisions about arming and protecting Israel, congress and the senate does. Left to him Israel would have been sold down the river 4 years ago. Don’t be fooled, a vote for romney is a vote against 2 state solution, Camp David,Oslo accords, those mamzerim clintons, and protecting every inch of eretz yisroel, protecting the shtochim, building settlements, bombing Iran back to the middle ages, destroying our enemies Mikol… Read more »
