Announcement by Tzivos Hashem:
Chidon Shabbaton 5780 is approaching and getting your child to the big day just got a whole lot easier.
Introducing ChidonDrive for 5780.
You have seen your child studying for hours—hours that could have been used for many other things, which they chose to dedicate to Torah study instead. You know best what a tremendous impact it has had on your child.
Now it’s time to show them how we recognize and value what they have done.
Surely you are planning to send your child to participate in the Shabbaton. Possibly you are concerned about the price.
Well, we know how you feel.

The Background
When Chidon Shabbaton began seven years ago, there were 45 children enrolled.
We knew that to grow the movement it was crucial to give them the time of their life—and we did. And the results speak for themselves. Participation grew by leaps and bounds, and this year we are expecting as many as 3,428 children to participate!
Of course, this comes with a price tag. It costs $350 per child to actualize this experience of a lifetime. To make this realistic for parents, we took it upon ourselves to subsidize half of the cost. This year, the total cost of the Shabbaton is $1.2 million.
Compared with the $18,000 commitment we made the first year, that is a tremendous amount of responsibility to take on. But the effect Chidon has on our children is too important for us to pass up. And so we continue forward.
The Solution
Last year we launched the ChidonDrive. It was a creative solution to keep Chidon afloat by partnering with the parents, the ones who know best the tremendous effects and importance of Chidon Shabbaton on their children.
The personalized fundraising platform allowed each family to reach out to their close network and encourage them to contribute toward this valuable cause, while at the same time reducing or even removing the fee for parents.
The Upgrade
This year, we’ve made it even better. Rather than requiring a minimum raised before your registration fee is reduced, this year every dollar raised is split 50/50 between your child’s registration fee and the $175 subsidy. Every little bit helps you cover your cost while helping the movement stay alive – and thrive!
To sweeten the deal even further, once you have raised $275, a generous grant from Mr. George Rohr of $75 will be applied to each child, bringing the total to $350—securing them a $0 registration fee, and completely covering their subsidy.
We have also added an amazing raffle with great prizes to encourage the children’s participation.
The initial fundraising goal is set at $350, but we encourage you to up your personal goal and do what you can to keep the movement growing.
