This past Chanukah, the Governor of Texas Rick Perry hosted his state’s Head Shliach Rabbi Shimon Lazaroff and 4 local Chabad Shluchim for a Menorah lighting in the public reception room in his office in Houston.
The man who doesn’t flinch over executing inmates remained particularly patient as the rabbis sang the lengthy “Haneiros Halulu” song according to the Chassidic custom. At the end of it, they pulled him in for a dance.
He -and they- had no idea at the time of his presidential aspirations.
Yet, that dance is now benefiting him, as he portrays himself as a friend of the Jews and an alternative to President Barack Obama‘s dubious track-record on Israel.
The 7-minute video, posted at the time on COLlive.com, is making its rounds on the web with 13,227 views on YouTube so far.
“Perry goes the full nine yards taking part in the traditions – including, at around the 4:55-minute mark, dancing with the rabbis,” Politico reported.
ABC News, Fox News, Huffington Post and New York Magazine carried it on their websites, with National Review Online featuring it on its homepage to prove that Perry is “a real mentsch.”
“You know who’s a great friend of Israel? Rick Perry,” proclaimed American political satirist Stephen Colbert on Thursday’s edition of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.
“Rick Perry stands with the Jews… When he’s not dancing with them!” Colbert said, and went on to show the clip of Perry dancing with the Chabad Shluchim.

for a little dance?!!?!
good job rick he supports isreal and will be out nxt president taking over our muslim president
or maybe thats not the right word, but the fact is, he doesn’t look enthusiastic at all, and you cant judge his character from one video.
still, no matter what, he’s definitely better then obama…
