In an attempt to address the needs of the Crown Heights community, two business savvy young Yeshiva students, Chaim Wuensch and Matti Weingarten, have introduced a brand new service called ‘Rent a Bro.’
Currently enrolled at Achei Yeshiva in Crown Heights, these California natives identified a significant gap in the local market for accessible, reliable freelance services and have stepped up to fulfill this need.
Wuensch and Weingarten believe their venture can greatly assist the Crown Heights community. “We really feel like this can help people in Crown Heights. We know there are people looking for a hand, and we are here to make it easier for you,” says Wuensch.
Recognizing the absence of a centralized platform for referrals and assistance in the Jewish world, the duo has meticulously curated a team to offer a range of services through their newly launched website, Rent a Bro. From shopping for groceries to shlepping, kitchen assistance, furniture assembly, tutoring, and various odd jobs, the platform aims to cater to the diverse needs of the community.
Weingarten elaborates on the services, stating, “If you are having a lot of guests and need help with the kids while you are cooking, or even if you need help in the kitchen, we will provide someone who can help fill these tasks.”
All the workers enlisted are local, Jewish, and frum, ensuring a seamless fit into the community and eliminating concerns about kashrus, or understanding and respecting a Jewish home.
The Rent a Bro website, finalized just yesterday, is already gaining attention, with interested individuals reaching out for assistance. The services are now live and accessible to everyone. Users can select a service and connect with an on-call WhatsApp concierge who will guide them through the process. Additionally, there’s an online option to submit requests via email, allowing users to provide specific details about the service they require.
With a focus on affordability, Wuensch explains, “We are working to make large tasks or tasks that will take longer priced fairly, so that everyone can use this service.”
