Fond memories

I have distinct memories of him in 770. He was an unassuming personality but clearly an old time chasid. He would stand in reverence at the Rebbe’s Farbrengens and whenever I went into his shop he’d have recordings of the Sichas playing or Chassidishe nigunim on. One could shmooz with him late at night and hear much interesting stories. Getting to know some of his progeny I have an event greater appreciation of the man whom he was as it’s evident that he and his eishes chayil raised real mentchen.

Very special

He was our neighbor on Sterling Street. Who ever knew what a rich incredible life this man lead? He was so unassuming in his personality, so humble. It’s amazing to learn about all this. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Browse to http://www.zemirotdatabase.org/view_song.php?id=91#rec, click on “load recordings”, and listen to the third tune. This is how it was sung there, and to this day it brings me sweetest memories of that loveliest Shabbos table!

Thank you

As a young girl I often visited your father’s store to develop my pictures. He was so kind and patient, and I looked forward to my talks with him. I had no idea that Mr. Kievman had such an illustrious background – he was, as you mentioned, so humble and kind. I wondered for a while where he might have gone, and reading this article today, I am saddened to hear that his Neshama went back On High. You are lucky to be his children! May we greet Moshiach soon.
