An emotional meeting took place by Hashgocha protis on Thursday evening, between two Israeli visitors to the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens, NY.
Moshe Lion, the Mayor of Jerusalem, visited the Rebbe’s Ohel as he begins a visit to NYC. He was accompanied by Rabbi Zalman Duchman, on behalf of the Colel Chabad organization.
While in the tent outside the Ohel, they met Eli Sharabi, 53, a former hostage held by Hamas in Gaza, who spoke to the United Nations Security Council on Thursday about Hamas atrocities and the situation in Israel during the current war. He was accompanied by Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky on behalf of Merkos and Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, Director of Chabad of the Five Towns, NY.
The two Israeli activists embraced warmly, and complimented each other for the work they each do on behalf of the Jewish people.
The Mayor of Jerusalem is a great friend of Chabad, and a partner in many of the charitable activities of Colel Chabad n Jerusalem, assisting the poor and needy.
