I heard that the friediker Rebbe said not to throw a kid out because of tuitin because tuition you can alwats get later, and not always can you get the kid later(after hes thrown out)
Let me understand something here… So the Rebbe was wrong? He didn’t really get it or you don’t really believe the story?
im writing this with tears in my eyes. its so disgusting to see these comments. I hope comment number 3 and the others are not written by teachers. go become a shoichet. are you normal? You know there are a lot of beggers in 770 that arent really poor. Thats not what we’re talking about. Not only is it not at all a justification, but i doubt most people are blatently ripping off the moisdos. Not only does the institution have no right to take such an action as a result of their suspicion, but the way they go about… Read more »
Wasn’t Achdus & Tzedoko so essential to the Rebbe as a means to bring the Geulah? Shouldn’t they be a priority for Chassisim of the Rebbe?
Interesting perspective that Lubavitch Mosdos are “FINANCIALLY unable be sensitive to the parents and children of the Lubavitch Mosod.”
In my community there lies a huge contrast between the Lubavitch Mosdos to the Non-Lubavitch Mosdos. You see, at ALL Non-Lubavitch Mosdos, the parents are Be-Achdus when it comes to fundraising and have no shame to fundraise from their friends, relatives and business associates for their kids school. Their Mosdos are able to pay their staff and therefore they are able financially to be sensitive to the parents and children of their Mosod. Conversely, at Lubavitch Mosdos, the parents are NOT Be-Achdus and have NO guts to fundraise from their friends, relatives and business associates for their kids school. “Isn’t… Read more »
It happen to one of my friends in seminary the principal told her that if her parents don’t pay then she is out. How disgusting to tell that to a child, it shouldn’t be her issue if her parents were behind in payments…So much for educator!!
Actually, there are those of us who genuinely don’t have money, don’t buy luxuries & don’t go on vacation. We have debts over our heads, mostly because of tuition bills…
One of my sons was removed from line-up in front of his friends at age 9 because we missed one payment. Then sent home without verification that someone was home. This in a “Lubavitch Moissed”. Needless to say, he was promptly removed & put in a different (non-Lubavitch) Yeshiva. So much for rejection b/c of tuition…….
Have you notice 1000s of teachers being laid off,and many schools closing because of the Housing crisis,Foreclosores not bringing state money.I say,its a Privelege,if you get 15%,discount.Look at California. If one has the Means, pay 1005,so others that dont, can get a discount.
hello, among other comments, I’d like to say that if you know someone who has trouble paying tuition, then try to find a way to set them up (they don’t even need to know who it is really if you do it right) with someone who has maaser money to give. Ask the person to commit to paying the tuition instead of a straight donation. That would work, no?
tuition should be every persons priority.
parents complain how much they have to pay but it is the teachers who end up with no pay check and huge credit card bills, not the parents. Its a chuzpah.
Parents need to put their priorities in order. Even in this economy, education has to be a priority, not vacations or new cars.
yeshivas, elemtary schools, high schools, they all reject. Parents are told if they can’t pay tuition they should go elsewhere!!!
yes… schools do need money to operate…but when kids are kicked out becuase parents can’t/won’t pay they run a great risk of going off the derek and then we as lubavitchers pay an incredibly larger amount of $$$$ to get them back than their tuition cost
If people would pay for schools, the schools would have money to pay their teacher and hence, be able to hire normal teachers to educate the children. If a parent can’t afford tuition, they should find someone to sponsor it because instead, teachers lose another month of their salary. There are always those special cases that the school should take upon but the whole situation spiraled out of control. There are so few parents that actually do pay full tuition for their children.
people are not fair with schools and claim they have no money but spend it on themselves vacations cars etc. there is a big problem here.
just about every yeshiva does it nowdays
