The yahrzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchak, the Rebbe’s father, is approaching.
The Rebbe personally wrote that he suggests and requests that on this day people learn from his father’s Torah and hold a farbrengen in his memory.
Baruch Hashem, in the past decade it has become possible for people from around the world to travel to his resting place in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, with full hospitality arrangements in place.
This year as well, a full hachnasas orchim program will be in place from Sunday, 19 Menachem Av, through Tuesday, 21 Menachem Av.
After arranging your flights (direct or with connections) and booking your hotel accommodations, you will be able to take advantage of the hachnasas orchim system, which includes transportation from the moment you land, meals at the hotel, and shuttle service between the central locations throughout the day of the yahrzeit.
Along the main road leading from the cemetery entrance to the holy tziyun, air-conditioned tents will be set up for learning and davening, for writing and preparing to enter the tziyun, with hot and cold drinks and light refreshments available around the clock.
On the day of the yahrzeit, Chof Menachem Av, the central program will take place following Shacharis. The program will include davening, Tehillim, a seder nigunin, and a pan klali on behalf of Anash, the shluchim, and the temimim. The program will be broadcast live worldwide.
Shiurim and the central farbrengen will be held at the luxurious Rixos Hotel in central Alma-Ata, where guests can also reserve rooms.
The main farbrengen, with leading rabbonim, mashpi’im, shluchim, chassidim, and askanim, will take place on Monday night, Motzaei Yom Hahilula, in the large ballroom of the Rixos Hotel.
A dedicated website launched today provides all the information needed for the yahrzeit, including hotel reservations.
