Reb Sholom Bruchstat, composer of Chabad niggunim and a resident of Crown Heights, is sitting Shiva for his brother Rabbi Pinchos Bruchstat, 72, OBM.
The family hails from a family of respected Boyan Chassidim. R’ Pinchos was a longtime educational supervisor at the Itri Talmud Torah (Orchos Ish) in Jerusalem.
He was the first conductor of the Boyan Chassidim Choir and was known for his heartfelt davening. He lived in the Sanhedria HaMurhevet neighborhood of Jerusalem.
In addition to his brother R’ Sholom, he is survived by children and grandchildren. The levaya was held on Wednesday.
