On Monday Oholei Torah held a farewell gathering to honor Rabbi Pinchus Rapoport.
Rabbi Rapoport has served as menahel of the intermediate department of the yeshiva, grades 3, 4 and 5, for the past sixteen years. He has distinguished himself with his dedication to his students, as well as for his wisdom and humility.
Rabbi Rapoport has chosen to return to teaching which offers gratification whilst helping talmidim on a more individualized level.
Rabbi Hershel Lustig, menahel of the yeshiva, addressed the gathering. He said that Rabbi Rapoport reflects the words of Mishlei that describe Torah – ‘Her ways are pleasant and her paths are peaceful’.
Dr. Shlomo Mahana, school psychologist, spoke about how much Rabbi Rapoport will be missed. All present wished Rabbi Rapoport success in his future capacity as a teacher in the yeshiva.
I knew there will be some negative comments; but i did not expect it to be al in capital; well educated kids can only come out from a teacher and a principal that is a “mentch”. which is what everyone agrees he was.
The way the parents and school can focus on the kids is by providing them with teachers and principals as rabbi rapoport….!
he’s my father!
but who’ll take him over?
i think rebbi g.
Rabbi Rapoport cared even more for every student. The quality of the education went up 1000% during his tenure.
On this thread you have that question?!
I was far from your best student, got a hei minus on my report cards (worst mark in OT history) yet you knew how to put me in my place without putting me down. Years later later you took off school to travel hours to my wedding wow what a teacher
Thanks for everything
M g
WHILE IT IS VERY NICE TO HEAR THAT YOU HAD A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR MENAHEL YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT’S MORE IMPORTANT” YOUR RELATIONSHIP OR THE CHILDREN COMING OUT OF THE SYSTEM WELL EDUCATED ”.UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS NOT THE CASE.
WE SHOULD FOCUS ON THE KIDS.
after working in the past under Rabbi Rapaport, and now in a different moisad, i can say that Rabbi Rappaport is a mentch, and i miss working for him.
Rabbi Rappaport realy looks like a mensch. Someone who really cares about every individual and their needs, and wants! I hope he will be successful in his teachings and i don’t doubt that for a moment.
Oy vey! Whered u learn to spell???
Since our students are behind in many subjects compared to other Chassidishe Yeshivas,I suggest that you create a real curriculum that will improve and give our children a good education.
As of now each teacher decides what and how to teach,.Not the way a real school is supposed to run.
He was my sabstute and he was vary good but as a princble he was not good (It was not becouse I was making trouble that I dont like him but it was that he dident take cere of thing in Ahavas Yisreal)
His first 8 years he was Principal from Pre1-a through 4th grade
Rabbi Rappaport was the first administrator I worked for when I came out of Kollel, he is one of a kind, a superior human being. I am still teaching ten years later. Its a shame he is leaving his post, quality administrators who have a natural talent for Chinuch are hard to come by, whereas there seems to be an abundance of classroom teachers. Good Luck Rabbi R.
In his one and only year as a 5th grade teacher in OT, in the year of 5754, I was zoche to be his talmid. I never had him as a principal, (cause the next year, we were in 6th grade, and he was a principal for grades 3-5,) but I can say that he was our best teacher we ever had, from his personal concern for every individual talmid, to his humor, (Chanukah-Bingo in his house), to his super teaching ability – “Vos art Rashi” (-whats bothering Rashi?, he made us write that by every rashi). I am today,… Read more »
I have boys in all departments of Oholei Torah, and while I am happy with all the department heads, my favorite, hands down, is Rabbi Rapoport.
A real mensch, someone who actually listens and tries to help.
I will really miss him as my son’s principal.
Wishing him much hatzlocha in teaching.
as an oholei torah-nik, there are rumors that rabbi goldstein, the mashgiach from the older grades will take him over.
not just a mind but a heart too, that is whats great about rabbi rapiport. he was able to combine both
I vote with you!
Let’s see more “great accomplishments for the betterment of our kids”!
