Over 100 people attended a Siyum Harambam at the Chabad center in Cherry Hill, under the direction of Rabbi Mendy Mangel, head Shliach of Camden and Burlington Counties, NJ.
Rabbi Yitzchok Kahan, Shliach of Chabad in Medford and organizer of the event, introduced the evening. Rabbi Menachem Kaminker, Director of the Israeli Chabad Center in Cherry Hill spoke about the importance of Limud Harambam and made the Siyum.
The event was also the launching of an annual lecture series on the Rambam’s contribution to society, dedicated in memory of Dr. Arthur and Estella Gold.
Dr. Daniel Eisenberg, a respected physician at the Department of Radiology at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine, enlightened the crowd on how we can apply the Rambam’s teaching to contemporary health issues, such as diet, smoking, immunization and genetic screening.
