By Rabbi Shlomo Ezagui
Life is NOT about winning (which is never in your hands) — it is ALL about succeeding – according to G-ds plan. Improving and fulfilling your own life, which is the key to ALL, your happiness and blessings. This, is completely within your hands to be successful.
It is so very easy these days, to be totally confused about life, so I gathered practical advice – in his very own original words– from THE greatest thinker, codifier of Jewish Law and Jewish leadership, The Rambam/Maimonides. Offering little fluff, lots of spiritual inspiration, and a very clear path in practical conduct, for ALL areas of life, to make it a blessed and truly successful life.
You get only one shot at life, one chance for eternal bliss, make it a bullseye. Don’t squander life away.
We all know how much our Rebbe stressed the importance of studying Rambam EVERYDAY. The Rebbe himself did so. The Rebbe considered himself, a student of the Rambam, and now you can capture the essence of the Rambams teachings, in a very easy digestible and all comprehensive way, like never presented before.
Maimonides Advice for the 21st Century answers the following: What is the purpose of life? What are the proper aims & objectives of life? What is the greatest good deed one could do and what is the worse sin? Can a person repent on all sins? Should we be kind to every Jew? Can one steal a penny from a gentile? How should one treat a simple Jew? What is the Jewish approach to a married life? Is there anything wrong to thinking bad thoughts? The Power of thought. The Power of Eretz Isroel. The Power of our mission as Jews.
The core of this book are the lessons offered by the Rambam in his own Holy and insightful words, throughout his Mishneh Torah, on proper ethics, morals and values.
Justice, i.e. behaving properly in an ethical and moral manner, is a great mitzvah, commanded multiple times as the cornerstone of the Torah, and attributed to many biblical heroes and prophets, as well as the Moshiach himself. Lack of justice led to the destruction of Yerushalayim, while restoring justice will lead to its rebuilding and hasten the Moshiach.
The generation of the flood failed to properly dispense justice and caused the world to be destroyed. The 24, 000 students of Rabbi Akiva died because they did not honor each other. The first reaction Rav Huna had when his wine lost value, and Rav Pappa when he fell off a ladder was, “How do I improve my spiritual Torah behavior from here on, to improve the course of my life (which is always ONLY a result of G-ds will) so things get better.”
Rabbi Jacob ben Asher of Toledo, known as the Ba’al ha-Turim (d. ~1343), at the beginning of Choshen Mishpat, his code of Jewish civil law, offers an essay of sorts on the importance of having a justice system. He begins by citing the statement from Avot 1:2 that “the world stands on three things: on law (din), truth (emet), and peace (shalom),” explaining, on the basis of Rabbenu Yonah, that these are not the purposes for which the world was created but are rather the means through which the world is sustained.
This NEW book presenting the eternal wise words of the Rambam will guide you in EVERY area of your life to a path of sustained pleasantness and to the pathways of inner confidence, peace and tranquility.

Here is the order of study, the Magid of Mezritch, gave the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi at the age of 25.
This order included a daily study of Maimonides/Rambam because “I received from my holy teacher (The Baal Shem Tov) it is a spiritual aid for the fear of G-d and to eliminate the negative forces”….It is interesting, the Magid refers to Rambam as “Rambam HaKadosh,” (the Holy Rambam).

You have a Rebbe. Listen to him! The Rebbe says dont wait to be financially secure to get married bc your wife is the source of your bracha for parnoso!
The rambams approach whilst ideal is not the practical Halacha which is to be tolerant of the times. Today if one would wait to build a home first it could take years if not decadesat which point the drive for marriage will dwindle and thus lead to a very unhealthy situation. One has to consider that the times of the Rambam acquiring a house could have been simply a double bed in the in law’s home on the farm… Today is simply not realistic for your average folk. Additionally I’ve heard in Rabbi Manis Freedman’s class on shidduchim that the… Read more »
