Over 25 Rabbis and Rebbetzins in Melbourne, Australia, attended a professional development seminar on ‘Defining roles’ hosted and sponsored by Monash University and the Rabbinical Council of Victoria (RCV).
Professor Vivek Chaudhri, an academic in the Department of Management at Monash University, ran the interactive presentation, which explored areas such as negotiating one’s role within the community; communication; enhancing working relationships and collaboration and compromise.
Professor Chaudhri noted the importance of perspective and perceptions in enabling a more nuanced and empathetic approach to negotiations in the community context.
Associate Professor Amanda Pyman, Director of the Monash MBA Programs, expressed her gratitude to Professor Chaudhri for his engaging presentation on negotiating one’s role within the community.

Rabbi Meir Shlomo Kluwgant, President of the Rabbinical Council of Victoria, said “it was wonderful to see rabbis and rebbetzins engaging in robust discussion and learning negotiation techniques that will benefit their communities.”
