Rabbi Shlomo Teitelbaum, Rov of Khal Adas Yereim of Kew Gardens, NY, passed away on Wednesday night, 18 Iyar, 5779.
He was 77.
Rav Teitelbaum was the son of Rabbi Yaakov and Rebbetzin Freida Teitelbaum obm, mara d’asra in Kew Gardens, and was his father’s Maaleh Makom where we served for over fifty years as Mara De’asra of Kehal Adas Yeraim and as a magid shiur in Mesivta Torah Temimah.
Rav Yaakov Teitelbaum sent his son Shlomo along with his brothers, Moshe (Boro Park), Eli obm (Boro Park), Yisroel (Morristown), Yitzchak Meir (Miami Beach), and Yossi (Lakewood) to the Lubavitcher Yeshiva at Bedford and Dean for elementary and High School, and had a very close relationship with the Rebbe and Chabad.
He is survived by his wife, Nechama, and many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Moshe Teitelbaum – Boro Park, Yisroel Teitelbaum – Morristown, Yitzchak Meir Teitelbaum – Miami Beach, Yossi Teitelbaum – Lakewood, Miriam Leiser and Leah Feldman.
The levaya took place Thursday in Queens.
The family is sitting Shiva at R’ Shlomo’s house, 8530 124th St, Jamaica, NY 11415 until Wednesday morning.
