Ben Judah, author of “This is London,” penned an article in England’s Jewish Chronicle stating that synagogues “are treated like clubhouses not communities.”
Titled “Listen to the backbenchers,” he went on to say note that “Chabad is the most successful at outreach shows that others are not even trying.”
In a video released on Friday, Chabad Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet of the Mill Hill Synagogue in London, responds to him.
Thank you for speaking out Rabbi. No other rabbi I am aware of addressed the article that so many of us read and became upset about.
I applaud the rabbi for the ability not only to refute this guy’s article but to get through reading this article without severe nausea. The article was absurd on so many levels that it showed the underlying problem with liberal media. At some point the flawed thinking emerges. It’s a case of emotions over logic. This guy seems disgruntled because he wanted to have it both ways — remain religiously uncommitted or ignorant while expecting unconditional inclusion.
