Dear new Vaad of Bais Rivka,
On Thursday Chof Vov Elul my wife whatsapped me excitedly to let me know that the teachers of Bais Rivka received a check.
Thank G-d now we won’t have to think twice before buying an extra challah or bottle of wine – with Sukkos coming up we don’t have to be concerned about all the extra meals, and hey, we might even be able to go on a decent family trip (Read: Not to Prospect Park!).
After coming home in the evening, getting the kids to bed, and winding down a bit, I asked my wife to sign the check so I could go deposit it.
She opened the envelope, and we discovered that there are TWO checks there!
Boruch Hashem, not only will we be able to have a more enjoyable yom tov, we will actually be able to start paying off the debt we’ve accumulated…
Thank you so much for making this happen, you’ve kept your word and we are extremely grateful. You don’t realize how much you’ve helped the tens of families relying on this for their day-to-day expenses.
May all of you be bentched with a zise yohr, with the ability to continue helping the Rebbe’s school.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
An appreciative husband
don’t currently work in Beis Rivkah but so nice to hear, hey maybe i’ll consider working there!

As a former board member of a school in Ch i know how difficult this is a position to be in. The complaints always come pouring in but the “Thank You’s” are almost always non-existent. The true thanks here goes to two pioneers: Yerachmiel Jacobson and Dovid Yunik. Not only do they give of their time – and they are two very busy business people in their own right, with plenty of staff in their businesses who need their attention – but they have generously given of their personal finances. Erev Yom Kippur is not a time to knock anyone,… Read more »
Don’t know who you are but I found myself getting a bit emotional from excitement for you and your family! Bh you guys really deserve it! May hasham continues to bentch you and all rest of yiden with all the brachos!!
Thank you to the grateful husband that wrote this, it brought tears to my eyes, along with the many comments! May this continue forever and we all see much nachas from our daughters and granddaughters who attend this wonderful school!!!
I am one of the many grateful staff members in Beth Rivkah, and though I expressed my appreciation privately would like to publicly acknowledge the board’s dedication and commitment The mere fact that we got paid monies due to us on time made all the difference Beth Rivkah teachers give of themselves beyond the call of duty, the paycheck is not their motivation. They are idealistic and view chinuch in Beth Rivkah as a shlichus, but they have to pay their babysitters and their bills. Thank you for making it possible for us to focus on our chinuch Responsibilities, not… Read more »

You are bringing a positive feeling and excitement back into the Rebbe’s school and hopefully it will continue to only grow and become more and more successful! Wishing an abundance of brachos for you and your families
there’s only one best school of Crown Heights and that is Bais Rivka you are the best keep up the good work and beautiful article thank you so much for sharing with us
Nice to see something uplifting before Y’K.
May the rest of the year be as sweet!
There is nothing more important than the chinuch of our children, and the teachers are doing holy work that is really what we all need to look up to. I challenge everyone that for this coming year, any tzedaka you give, match it with a donation to your child’s school, or if you don’t have school aged children to a school you want to support.
That is so good to read !!! As a former Bais Rivka student I want to keep on having pride in my school!
It should continue like this the whole year !
Gmar chasima tova

Hope this positive change will ripple over to the ruchnius too!
from out of town, but when there is positive movement and energy it should be spread and emphasized! Thank you for holding up the torch

The community shares in your appreciation for this new courageous board. These are individuals who have steeped up to the plate to take on a responsibility that our teachers and principals should get paid and be able to teach with a happy face. May g-d bless them in every way.
