Rosh Kollel and known philanthropist Rabbi Yitzchok Raitport of Boro Park along with his wife, Shaindel, and their children, paid a special visit to Bais Rivkah School on Wednesday, visiting the classrooms and the other areas of the building, and got to see the school in action.
Rabbi and Mrs. Raitport are longtime supporters of the school, and a wing of the flagship building on Lefferts Avenue in Crown Heights is dedicated in their name.
The Raitports were recently one of the donor matchers of the school’s successful $1 million fundraising campaign.
Rabbi and Mrs. Raitport were greeted by Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Chairman of Bais Rivkah Schools, and Rabbi Moshe Pinson, Yigal Niasoff, and Rabbi Yossi Baumgarten, representing the Board of Bais Rivkah.
Rabbi Raitport addressed the students of both the younger and older divisions in the school lunchroom, telling them they should each be like a candle, adding light to the world around them, and they should continue to grow in their Torah and Mitzvos.
Rabbi and Mrs. Raitport then toured the building, and visited the classrooms of their granddaughters who are students in the school.
Rabbi Raitport was very impressed with the school, and said he would like to see the numbers grow from 2,300 students currently enrolled to 3,000.
Rabbi Raitport expressed his support for an expansion of the building by adding an additional floor, suggesting that he would possibly support such a project in the future.
