The Lubavitcher community mourns the passing of Rabbi Mordechai Meir Hakohen Bryski, obm, saintly Chosid of the Frierdiker Rebbe and the Rebbe, at the age of 88.
A survivor of the Holocaust, Rabbi Bryski was among the Talmidim of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim in Otvock and Shanghai.
Soon after arriving in America from Shanghai, the Frierdiker Rebbe sent him on Shlichus to Montreal.
He later returned to Crown Heights with his family, where he lived for over 40 years.
Rabbi Bryski was a beloved teacher at Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Bedford and Dean, and then on Ocean Parkway, for many years.
Known as a remarkable man of faith, piety, sincerity and kindness, Rabbi Bryski was deeply respected and beloved by all who knew him. He merited to raise a family of Shluchim, askanim and upstanding Yidden in Crown Heights and California.
He and his wife, Ethel, are blessed with over 100 descendants, the youngest being a boy who had his bris just this past Shabbos. Despite his failing health, Rabbi Bryski was able to be present at the bris of his great-grandson, and was honored to serve as sandek.
Rabbi Bryski is survived by his wife, Rebbetzin Etel Nechama, and his children: Uri Eliezer Bryski – Crown Heights, Rabbi Sholom Dov Ber Bryski – Crown Heights, Yitzchok Bryski – Crown Heights, Rabbi Aaron Yaakov Bryski – Crown Heights, Mrs. Rochel Tzilka Kohn – Kensington, NY, Rebbetzin Chave Sarah Einbinder – Tarzana, CA, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Bryski – North Hollywood, CA, Rabbi Moshe Dovid Bryski – Agoura Hills, CA and Rebbetzin Rivkah Leah Katz – Los Angeles.
The Levaya will take place on Monday, leaving Shomrei Hadas Chapels in Boro Park at 10:00 am and passing by 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights at 10:45 am.

in 1960 when he was my 6th grade Rebbe (fond memories) in Bedford and Dean, he used to drive in every day with his Buick from Boro Park where he lived. Later when the rebbe asked the Chasssidim who could to move to Crown Heights he did. Yehi Zichroi Boruch.
He left this world, but he left it with a light that will never stop shining, a light that will never stop inspiring, a light that will never stop singing and dancing, a light that will live on forever and ever through his own goodness and kindness, and through his kids and grand kids who constantly make this world a better and brighter place.

Bryski family and especially Mrs. Bryski as well as Rivky, we are so sorry for your loss. Your father was a special person. I was very touched when my father (his friend from Otvotsk and Shanghai) who needs a refuah shelaima, had a stroke, he reached out, gave tzedoka in his zechus and made sure to tell the family how he constantly makes mishabeirachs and says tehillim for him. Very touching to see the love and devotion, father to son, at the kinus.
This generation was a unique generation of survivors, spiritual warriors who personified ahavas yisroel and a fire for Yidishkeit.
He once gave me a letter when i was in California to give to my Zeide Rabbi Greenglass OBM, I am sure they are having a good Lechaim Together in Shomayim! May they beg Hashem to send the Geulah Now!
