Rabbi Mendel Schapiro, Mashpia of Yeshivas Ohr Elchonon Chabad in Los Angeles will address the Kinus Hamechanchim to take place at the Armon Hotel in Stamford CT.
Rabbi Schapiro is renowned for his straightforwardness in dealing with his talmidim and for the personal, encouraging relationships he develops.
He will talk about the Importance of Chinuch and Mechanchim in shaping the future of Chabad. Nothing can take the place of an educational institution that encourages students to maximize their potential and no one can take the place of a mechanech who builds the self-confidence of his students.
These are challenging times for educators, they are underappreciated, not adequately respected while at the same time the challenges of reaching their students are all the more difficult.
In general it can be said that today’s mechanchim are better prepared and more driven to meet the individual needs of talmidim and yet they do not receive the credit or appreciation they deserve.
In times bygone in Chabad, Rabboinim, melamdim and shochtim were considered the pillars of Chassidic community. It was due to their dedication that a Chassidic community was able to thrive. The may be said of today’s mechanchim. They are the reason our communities grow and why our children continue to be attached to the Rebbe.
Rabbi Shapiro will discuss these facts in a keynote address and will also “farbreng” with the mechanchim who will be in attendance.
