Rabbi Meir Verzub, director of Chabad Russian immigrant absorption services in Israel, passed away Wednesday, 12 Adar I 5771.
He was 63 and suffered from a serious illness.
A resident of Kryat Malachi’s Nachlas Har Chabad Neighborhood he led the Russian speaking department of Lubavitch Youth Organization (Tzach) in Israel for over 20 years.
Rabbi Verzub traveled to Russia to lead Passover seders and has coordinated many music festivals for immigrants.
He also helped publish Torah leaflets, calendars and books in Russian.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Verzuband their children Tzipora Garelick and Yossi Verzubof Moscow; Ruti Ashkenazi, Ita Gevirtz and Mendy Verzub of Nachlas Har Chabad.
The funeral took place today and he was buried in Har Hamenuchos.
