Ever wonder what your kid is learning in school? Or in this case, out of school?
You may have heard them recently speak about a mini school trip to the Levi Yitzchok Library in Crown Heights.
Over three years ago, Lubavitch Youth Organization initiated a program in which Lubavitch youngsters would take a short excursion to the library for an open forum discussion with Rabbi Manis Friedman about virtually any topic.
In these candid discussions the students could broach subjects not normally addressed during school hours. Basic questions about Hashem, Yidishkeit, Mitzvos, and their relationships with their parents, were the most common themes.
Prior to the discussions students were given blank pieces of paper to write anonymous questions about the hard pressing issues in life that are often swept right under the rug. The discussions from the past years have been made available for free download and viewing on 11213.org. Please note that other discussion groups and classes were also offered to older bochurim, kolel yungerleit, girls, married women, teachers, mashpim, pre school teachers, and various Crown Heights visitors.
These classes are sponsored by small donations made by local 11213 residents. Please help support the cause by visiting 11213.org

How about doing it for the boys/girls in monsey?
Donated. Thank you!
It is sad that our children have these questions that obviously are not being answered at home or in school. It is wonderful that Tzach and Rabbi Friedman are stepping in to fix this. Yasher Koach
I sincerely believe that all the problems we have with our children stems from the lack of teaching basic Emunah. Our teachers don’t understand it, our parents don’t understand it, and as a result, our children don’t understand it, and they don’t feel any compelling reason to stick to the guidelines that are based on an Emunah that they don’t understand. Rabbi Friedman is doing us a great service by providing our children with answers to many questions that we ourselves both can’t answer because we ourselves don’t know the answers, as well as need to get the answers to.… Read more »
Mrs Shaffer does this in bais rivkah high school and its almost the most im portant class for the girls. They are free to ask anything and everything, anonymously written on paper, and she answers all these really hard questions. Unfortunatley too much of the hanhola still have their head in th sand and don’t address the real questions that kids are dealing with.
I love listening to rabbi Friedman’s classes on 11213, really changes my day to day life
Such a wonderful wonderful person with such a wonderful חוש in connecting people with the Rebbe and Hashem
ITS ABOUT TIME! GREAT JOB RABBI KASTEL! ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!. I thank rabbis paltiel, friedman and all the others who give to our
OWN!
I remember Rabbi Friedman from when I was in Bais Rivka (I will not say how many years ago!). He was one of the only rabbis who accepted any and all questions. I’m glad to see he’s still doing that.
Kol Hakavod to LYO, the Levi Yitzchak Library, the schools and Rabbi Friedman for undertaking this important initiative and seeing it through to fruition.
I wish i had that when i was in yeshiva. Yaarich yomim al mamlachto!
