Rabbi Manis Gives Marriage Workshop to Smicha Students in Los Angeles

In what has become a much anticipated annual event, the bochurim of the Smicha Yeshiva in Los Angeles were presented with an in-depth, engaging workshop with world-renowned Chassidic philosopher and lecturer Rabbi Manis Friedman.

Rabbi Friedman addressed questions of before and during dating, and after marriage, such as: What is the role of a husband? Making lists– is it a good idea? What you need to know about yourself before dating. The connection of your family of origin and the family you are about to build. How much do you reveal and how much don’t you reveal? Appropriate / inappropriate topics of conversation. Good chemistry– what is that? Hamshachas HaLev or falling in love
The role of the Shadchan during dating. How do you know it’s right? What is a good reason to say no? How to define “cold feet?” What is marriage?

Students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with Rabbi Friedman. To quote the bochurim directly, “He’s a legend!” The lectures were graciously hosted by Chabad of Calabasas.

“The bochurim gain so much from these classes,” says Rabbi Dovid Schmukler, Rosh HaKollel. “I get feedback from married alumni who tell me now how much these classes were a resource in getting marriage off to a solid beginning. The Rabbi clarifies ideas that many find mystifying. Today we can’t afford to not educate in these matters. Rabbi Friedman has so much wisdom and experience to share. What a gift!”

The program is part of Kollel Tiferet Menachem’s undertaking to educate and equip the students for setting up a healthy and happy Chassidishe home.
