Faygie Herzog never expected to help facilitate thousands of shidduchim, but life has a way of guiding you exactly where you need to be. When her father, Rabbi Josh Gordon, passed away nine years ago on the 29th of Shvat, she was devastated. She searched for a way to honor his neshama, to do something meaningful in his memory. And then, a simple suggestion changed everything: “Why don’t you start a shidduch group?”
That was eight years ago. Today, Faygie runs five thriving WhatsApp shidduch groups, with over 1200 people involved, including over 40 shadchanim, with nearly 300 engagements to show for it. Each group is tailored to a different segment of the frum world, offering coaching, guidance, and—above all—love and support.
The latest addition to these groups is something unique. Faygie calls it Rabbi Gordon’s Special Diamonds—an initiative dedicated to finding shidduchim for those with special needs, medical challenges, or mental health issues. “This group is so close to my heart,” Faygie says. “There are almost 100 people in it, and the response has been overwhelming. Parents reach out to me, often feeling lost and alone. I tell them: you’re not alone. There’s hope. And we’re going to do everything we can to help.”
Each shidduch WhatsApp group services unique segments of the population. The first group is specifically for those ages 19-30 and is open only to mothers and shadchanim. The second group, for ages 27-40, welcomes mothers, grandmothers, singles—anyone invested in the process. The third group is for those 40 and up, including singles, widows, and divorcees. The fourth group is for traditional singles—those who may not have grown up in frum homes but are looking for Jewish partners. And now, with Rabbi Gordon’s Special Diamonds, Faygie is making sure that no one is left behind.
None of this would be possible without the dedication and tireless efforts of the shadchanim who actively work in these groups, making matches, offering advice, and ensuring that singles find their zivug. Faygie emphasizes that they work as a team, “Including all five groups, there are over 1,000 people working on these shidduchim.”
The new group for those with special needs is a lifeline for so many who struggle in silence, unsure of where to turn. Faygie understands their pain, their worries, and their endless tefillos. She’s not just matching people; she’s offering strength, encouragement, and a deep belief that everyone has a zivug out there. “Sometimes people need a different kind of support,” she explains. “It’s not just about making a match—it’s about calming the anxiety, helping people believe in themselves, and showing them that Hashem cares so much about them.”
Faygie’s journey as a shidduch coach has taken her places she never imagined. She’s often referred to as the Intuitive Dating Coach. She is also a kallah teacher and an energy healer, doing so much more than make matches—she walks people through the journey, coaching them, guiding them, even helping couples long after they’ve reached the chuppah. As an energy healer, Faygie uses her unique skills to help people balance their emotions, calm anxiety, and clear emotional blockages that can hinder their journey to a successful match. “It’s all about helping people calm their nervous systems and believe in themselves,” Faygie says. “Sometimes, healing the heart is as important as making a match.”
Faygie credits her father, Rabbi Gordon, who taught her to think big. “What can you do to make this world a better place?” he would often ask. Faygie took those words to heart. Every single day, she learns with her father’s daily Torah studies and continues his legacy in the most beautiful way—by helping people build bayis ne’emans b’Yisrael.
For those searching for shidduchim, for those who feel forgotten, for those who need a little more love and support—Faygie’s WhatsApp shidduch groups are here for you. And with Rabbi Gordon’s Special Diamonds, she’s shining a light on those who need it most.
