Many people who were not breathing have been revived through CPR and live years after. So how can not breathing be defined as dead especially when the heart is still beating

Reb Moshe's Unknown Son Pesach Chaim
November 7, 2020 8:49 pm

A friend called questioning the accuracy of COLLIVE.COM about Reb Moshe ZT”L unknown son Pesach Chaim. I directed him to:

אגרות משה יורה דעה חלק א סימן קצ”ח

where Reb Moshe Writes:
בימי אבלי על בני הילד פסח חיים ע”ה
etc..

So COLLIVE.COM is absolutely correct!!

Well almost correct… Pesach Chaim a”h was nifter in Europe before R Moshe ztl immigrated ., as is clear from the Tshuva – Ellul 5686 Luban.
In the Tshuva he discusses a Shach in Hilchos Aveilus which he noticed during the aveilus which had ended 10 days prior….

Small Correction

COL writes that Reb Moshe Came to the United States with their children
Pesach Chaim Feinstein. This is inaccurate, because Pesach Chaim died in Russia as a child, as Reb Moshe writes in:

אגרות משה יורה דעה חלק א סימן קצ”ח

בימי אבלי על בני הילד פסח חיים ע”ה
Translation:

“When I was sitting Shiva for the death of my son Pesach Chaim…
etc..

and this Teshuva was written in Luban, Russia, כ”ב אלול ת’רפ”ו
corresponding to September 1, 1926

Important to note that R Moshes grandmother studied in cheder with the Tzemach Tzedek after her father the local Rov asked the Alter Rebbe for advice, as recorded in hakdoma to one of the later volumes of Igros Moshe
