Rabbi Benjy Stock has been appointed to the position of administrator of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch – 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, last week.
The Yeshiva has 650 registered bochurim studying in the main shul and small zal of Lubavitch World Headquarters under the tutelage of Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Labkowsky, Head Mashpia Rabbi Yoel Kahn ,and Menahel and Mashpia Rabbi Shloime Zarchi.
Bochurim, alumni of Chabad Yeshivos worldwide, enroll in the Central Yeshiva to continue their learning and receive smicha ordination before marriage, as the Rebbe instructed. The Yeshiva is also home to “Kevutza,” the group of Israeli bochurim spending a year by the Rebbe.
Executive Director Rabbi Moshe Meir Gluckowsky has been the de facto administrator until now, overseeing the Yeshiva at 770, the dormitory and kitchen at 1414 President Street and all operations.
With Rabbi Stock recently concluding his long-time job as administrator of Associated Beth Rivkah Schools in Crown Heights, he agreed to take on the newly created position at the 770 Yeshiva.
He will be running the administrative office including tuition, registration and bookkeeping, as well as the dormitory, kitchen. “My job is to better the gashmiyus of the Yeshiva,” he told COLlive.com. “And if the gashmiyus is good then the ruchaniyus is good.”
For Rabbi Stock, the new responsibility is a closing of a circle. After his marriage, he was offered the same job by Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary OBM (the “Rashag”) who served as the executive director of Tomchei Temimim, a task entrusted to him by his father-in-law, the Frierdiker Rebbe.
Rabbi Stock says he is looking forward to helping better the Yeshiva in every aspect as the crown jewel of the world-wide Lubavitch yeshiva system.
Rabbi Stock added that he will continue his commitment to Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’yom Tov (CSSY), initiated by the Rebbe and run by his late parents, R’ Shimshon and Martha Stock OBM. The charity organization feeds the hungry and supplies poor families with Shabbos and Yom Tov needs.

Benjy will take the Yeshiva to greater heights the same way he grew BR into a vibrant and successful institution.
