R’ Yossi Weiss, a resident of Kfar Chabad, passed away Monday, 16 Kislev, at the age of 65.
R’ Weiss was originally from Montreal, and moved to Crown Heights after his marriage to Libby Einbinder.
R’ Weiss worked in investments as a stock adviser, and was a great Baal Tzedakah. He was known to never turn anyone away who asked for help, even when things might not have been going well for him.
R’ Weiss was also known for his great sense of humor, and his house was always open to guests, with people always coming and going at all hours.
In the 1980’s he moved with his family to Kfar Chabad, Israel, where he became a known figure in the commmunity.
Even though he suffered during the last few years from a serious illness, he spoke to his children and grandchildren very frequently, never complaining about his condition.
“Even during his illness, he was very strong in his emunah,” a family member told COLlive. “He never thought anything bad would happen to him, because he firmly believed that Moshiach will be here any minute and everything would be fine.”
He is survived by his wife, Libby Weiss, and children Mendy Weiss of Miami Lakes, Florida and daughter Hindy Hazan of North Miami Beach, Florida.
He is also survived by his sister Hilda Dalfen, and brothers Hershy Weiss and Abie Weiss of Montreal.
The Levaya will take place Tuesday in Israel.
The family will be sitting shiva in Kfar Chabad.
