R’ Sholom Weiss, a devoted Chossid from Manchester, England who more recently lived in Jerusalem, passed away on Thursday, 10 Iyar, 5785.
He was 82.
R’ Sholom was the director of Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester for many years. He was a dedicated Chosid of the Rebbe, who leaves a family of descendants who follow in his ways of Torah and Chassidus.
In the past few years he lived in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood in Jerusalem.
He is survived by his wife, Hadassah Weiss and his children: R’ Dovber Weiss – Kingston, PA, Mrs. Ruti Rosenbaum (Pesach) – Melbourne, Australia, Mrs. Sarah Rosenfeld (Eli) – Florida, Mrs. Miriam Cohen (Yosef Yitzchok) – Melbourne, Australia, Mrs. Dina Creeger/strong> (Yitzy) – Cincinnati, R’ Shmuli Weiss – Ramat Shlomo, Jerusalem, Mrs. Sheva Roitblatt (Menachem) – Crown Heights, Mrs. Baila Greenfield (Mendy) – Crown Heights, Mrs. Ashira Goldberger (Elazar) – Crown Heights, R’ Mendy Weiss – Virginia, Mrs. Bracha Eisenbach (Mendel) – Crown Heights, R’ Moishy Weiss – Melbourne, Australia.
He is also survived by his siblings, Rabbi Dovid Gershon Weiss – Bnei Brak, Mrs. Tzivia Rivka Weiss – Boston, MA and Mrs. Yehudis Rochel Maness – London, England.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mrs. Tova Gittel Weiss obm.
The levaya will take place today at 9 PM at Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem.

ברוך דיין האמת The world lost a special person. Only 82 years young! You only have to look at the family he raised to see what an incredible individual Reb Sholom was. He cared for Yeshiva like it was an extension of his own home and for each Bochur like they were an extension of his own family. He will be missed. A pillar of the Manchester community. המקום ינחם to Dovber, Shmuli and the entire family.
As a child growing up in Lubavitch house Manchester, i always remember reb Sholom preparing and setting up the shabbos mevorchim farbrengens in shul. Those zechusim will accompany him.
He was such sweet yid and was really warm to the bochrim.

Reb Sholom was a wonderful Chossid, of whom so many special memories come to mind growing up in Manchester among them, his dedication and commitment to the Yeshivah was legendary, along with his commitment to all of the Rebbe’s inyonim.
