R’ Nissim Cohen, 72, OBM

R’ Nissim HaKohen Cohen, a father and grandfather of a Chabad family in S. Paul, MN, passed away on Monday, 3 Av, 5785.

He was 72.

Born in Argentina, he grew to live a life devoted to Torah, mitzvos and mesiras nefesh under the tutelage of Rabbi Berel Baumgarten, Shliach of the Rebbe in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He learned in Kfar Chabad Yeshiva, as well as supported the IDF troops during the Yom Kippur War with other Bochurim. He then learned in 770.

He most recently lived in S. Paul, Minnesota, where he served for many years as a dedicated Shochet, Sofer, Mohel, and was a devoted father of a large Chabad family.

R’ Nissim lived a life devoted to Torah, mitzvos, and mesiras nefesh.

Together with his wife, he merited to raise 12 children, and live in the ways of Torah and Chassidus.

He is survived by his wife Chaya Chana Cohen and their children:
