R’ Moshe Goodman, a Lubavitcher chossid and father of a family in Melbourne, Australia, passed away Motzoei Shabbos, Kislev 14, 5772.
He was 63 years-old.
Born in Riga, Latvia, to a Lubavitch family, his childhood was spent under the watchful eyes of the KGB as brave chassidim operated underground chadarim and yeshivos.
In Australia, he davened and learned at Yeshivah Centre and personified the mitzvah of Hachnosas Orchim, always having his home open for guests of all sorts.
His love of learning and for his family were exemplary, a family member told COLlive.
The levaya took place Sunday afternoon at the Chevra Kadisha Cemetery in Melbourne.
He is survived by his wife Gita Goodman and their children Rabbi Eli Goodman, a Shliach Long Beach, NY; Rafi Goodman, Shimon Goodman and Shoshy Blachman; and his brother R’ Yosef Gutman of Kfar Chabad, Israel.
The family is sitting shiva at 372 Glen Eira Rd, Caulfield, Melbourne. They also can be reached at [email protected].
