R’ Eli Baitelman, a young husband and father from Los Angeles, CA, passed away on Motzei Shabbos, 15 Iyar, 5783.
He was 40 and suffered a sudden heart attack.
Eli served for many years as a dedicated Shliach of the Rebbe in Pacific Palisades, California, and had a tremendous impact on the lives of hundreds of students, youth, campers, and their families.
Using his talents in his recent endeavors as a businessman, he proudly and joyously focused his interactions to further his Shlichus life, as he helped, inspectors, tradesmen and associates connect with their true heritage, especially through Mivtza Tefilin.
He was a loving husband and father, dedicated son, and a “go to” man for his family, friends, fellow Shluchim and Balei Battim. He will be remembered for his big heart and his unassuming acts of kindness.
He is survived by his wife Elka (nee Berger) and their children Avi, Henna, Sholom, Miriam, Rosie, Chana and Matti.
He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Yocheved Baitelman – Crown Heights and his siblings, Yechiel – Richmond, BC Canada, Yossi – Studio City, CA, Yochonon – Porter Ranch, CA, Zisi Cunin – Pacific Palisades, CA, Ari – Los Angeles, CA, Yanky – Westwood, CA and Sruly – New Haven, CT.
He was pre-deceased by his father R’ Avraham Moshe Halevi (Avi) Baitelman obm.
The Levaya will take place today, Sunday at 3 pm at Congregation Levi Yitzchok, 356 N. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles.
Burial at Chabad Mount Olive Cemetery.
Shiva will be at 631 N. Sierra Bonita Ave.
